How to use SparkMarker Team
SparkMarker Team is the edition for reviewing pages together. Everyone in a team sees the team's comments on the pages they visit, pinned to the element each one is about.
SparkMarker Team is a separate extension from SparkMarker and will be available in the Chrome Web Store soon. Your comments are stored on the SparkMarker Team server; read the privacy policy before you start.
Start a team
- Install and switch on Install SparkMarker Team, open any web page, click the toolbar icon and turn the switch on. A dock appears at the bottom of the page.
- Create your account Click the person icon in the dock and choose Set up Account. Enter your name, email address and a password of at least 8 characters.
- Name your team Leave Invite code empty and enter a team name. You become the team's admin.

Anyone who has the invite can join the team, so share it only with the people you mean to. An admin can replace it at any time with New code; the old one then stops working.

- Create your account Click the person icon, choose Set up Account, and enter the invite code along with your name, email address and password.
You belong to one team. From then on, sign in with your email address and password on any browser where SparkMarker Team is installed.
Review pages together
Commenting works exactly as in SparkMarker, and the SparkMarker guide covers it in detail:
- Click the speech bubble in the dock, or press Alt+Shift+C, then click the element to comment on. Tab reaches elements underneath others.
- Your teammates' comments appear on the same pages for you, and yours for them. Reply to them and tick Resolved when a point is dealt with.
- The list icon shows every comment on the page or the whole site, with search and filters, and copies them as Markdown or saves them as CSV.
- The 508 icon runs a WCAG 2.2 accessibility check; its findings are pinned to the elements they concern and shared with the team.
Comments from teammates appear when a page is loaded; reload the page to see what was added since.
Manage the team
The person who started the team is its admin. In the profile dialog an admin can:
- replace the invite code, so that the old link stops working;
- remove a member. That person can no longer sign in; the comments they wrote stay visible to the team under their name.
Your account
- Forgotten password. There is no self-service reset yet. Write to us from the email address of your account and we will help.
- Deleting your account or your team's data. Write to us; see the privacy policy.
- Prefer no account and no server? Use SparkMarker, which keeps everything in your browser.
